How launching a test works in the software

To launch a test, start by navigating to the "launch" tab at the top of the page once you have logged in.

You should see a display like the one below:

The flow for launching a test will prompt you as follows:

  1. Select the kind of application you wish to test, as above

  2. Select the purpose of your test

  3. Select the targeting for the test using controls

  4. Select (or define in an open text box) any specific instructions required by the test

  5. If your test requires test cases, upload them in the format detailed below

  6. Your test will be assigned as "advanced" vs "distinct" based on your targeting options

  7. Review and launch your test

Test launch FAQ

What is the advanced / express test distinction?

The terms "advanced" and "express" reflect targeting and service options which result in different turnaround times and price points.

  • If you wish to test rapidly test your application and you don't mind processing raw data from our testers, you should choose the express test option.

  • If you want moderated results without noise, or you wish to undertake advanced targeting, you should choose an advanced test.

What format should I upload test cases in?

  • If you do not require test cases for your test, such as exploratory tests, you can leave the relevant upload box blank.

  • If you require test cases but you have not written them or they are in the wrong format, Global App Testing can build your test cases for you in the services tab

Test cases should be provided in a spreadsheet such as xlsx or csv. There is a .xslx template available to download here or in the signup flow.
