Setting up an integration between Zephyr Squad and the GAT platform

Prerequisites

To set up the integration between Zephyr Squad and GAT’s platform, you will need:

  • A Jira account

  • Zephyr Squad installed in your Jira instance

  • Global App Testing plugin installed in your Jira instance (this requires you to be a full Jira admin)

  • A login for the GAT platform

Step 1: Create Zephyr Squad API Keys

  1. Log in to your Jira account.

  2. Select the project.

  3. From the left project menu select Zephyr Squad (red box)

From the left project menu select API Keys (red box)

If you don’t have API Keys, create them and copy the access key and secret key.

Locate your Jira account ID

  1. Go to your Jira profile page

2. Copy the account ID from the URL now showing in your browser (e.g. if the URL were https://gat-sandbox.atlassian.net/jira/people/653453afs, the account id is 653453afs

Step 2: Create an integration settings

  1. Log in to the GAT platform click on “Integrations” in the top menu and select “Create integration" below Zephyr Squad

2. Enter your Jira account ID in the relevant fields. Paste the Zephyr Squad access key and secret key.

3. Click “Save” and check that your integration to Zephyr Squad is now marked as “Enabled”.

Step 3: Using the Zephyr Integration from your Jira

Head over to your Jira project that has the Zephyr Squad plugin and our Global App Testing Plugin installed.

Create an issue, Open the created issue and Click on add test icon

Add the relevant test details for the test you want to run and click on checkmark icon

Now click on "Run test with Global App Testing" icon

Now click on "Launch this test" hyperlink that is created below in yourJira card

You will then see a confirmation page in your browser that looks like this:

Head back to the Jira card and click on the three dots and then on "Test executions"

You will be able to see that the test execution was created and is in Work In Progress status:

You are ready to use Zephyr Squad integration.
